About (Biography)
Chaplain in the Army Reserves, Rachel has deployed 3 times since the attacks on America. Gateway to Iraq, is her book about experiences during deployment.
Married to Chaplain Lt Col Michael Coggins an Air Force Chaplain, they now live in Florida. Our son Nathan is 19 years old and also on active duty with the Air Force.
We have lived in Louisiana, North Carolina, Virginia, Boston, LasVegas, Georgia, California and Florida. Also overseas in Germany, Turkey and the Azores.
God called me into ministry in the summer of 1974. Since then I have experienced many ministerial positions and educational opportunities including Military, Institutional, and Hospital Chaplaincy, Religious Education Director and Teacher, Choral Director, Music Teacher and Soloist, Prison Minister, short-term Missionary to Africa and New England, and Assistant for the Greater Boston Baptist Association.
